A 25-year-old Thai actor filed a police complaint after scammers used AI to create fake pornographic content featuring his face and sold it through private groups for 800-1,000 baht.
On March 25, 2025, Thai actor Khunnapat Pichetworawut (Pond), age 25, from the film 'Pee Nak 5', filed a police complaint at the Central Investigation Bureau. Scammers had used AI technology to superimpose his face and personal details onto pornographic video content, then distributed and sold this fabricated material through social media channels and private groups for approximately 800-1,000 baht. The actor first learned about the incident on September 18 when someone contacted him asking if he was aware of a leaked clip. Upon investigation, he discovered criminals had taken his face and private chat images to create pornographic content, falsely claiming it featured the actor from Pee Nak to attract viewers. The fake content was promoted on platforms including X (Twitter), causing some people to believe it was genuine and leading to obscene inquiries directed at the actor. The incident caused significant stress to both the actor and his family, particularly as it occurred during his film's theatrical release. Film director Phondanrit Chotikritdasopon accompanied him to confirm the content was completely fabricated and described it as a direct scam to defraud the public.
