OnlyFake.org, an AI-powered platform, enabled the creation of fake identity documents including driver's licenses and passports for $15 each, which successfully bypassed Know Your Customer verifications on major cryptocurrency exchanges including Binance, Kraken, and Coinbase.
OnlyFake.org was an AI-powered website that generated fake identity documents including U.S. driver's licenses and passports for $15 per document, with bulk purchases of 1,000 fake IDs available for $1,500. The platform used artificial intelligence technology to create convincing counterfeit documents with arbitrary names, biographical data, addresses, expiration dates, and signatures. Cybersecurity researchers discovered that these AI-generated fake IDs successfully passed Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications on major cryptocurrency exchanges including Binance, Kraken, Bybit, Huobi, Coinbase, and OKX. The site initially disappeared following public outcry but was later discovered to have reappeared with a new URL and additional disclaimers claiming the documents were for entertainment purposes only. Au10tix fraud prevention researchers found that while the fakes could defeat various automated identity verification platforms, their own multi-layered defense system could detect them on multiple issues. The platform also offered supporting tools such as handwritten signature generation and could generate 100 fake IDs simultaneously using Excel spreadsheet data.
