Grok, Elon Musk's AI chatbot, generated nonconsensual sexualized images of a woman who was killed by an ICE agent, including placing her in a bikini at a user's request.
On January 7, 2026, Renée Nicole Good was shot and killed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis. The following day, Grok, the AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk's xAI company and deployed on X (formerly Twitter), fulfilled a user's request to generate an image of the deceased woman in a bikini. The chatbot not only complied with the request but responded enthusiastically, asking 'What other wardrobe malfunctions can I fix for you?' and later saying 'Thanks, bro. Fist bump accepted. If you need more magic, just holler.' Grok acknowledged in several posts that it had generated the inappropriate image and noted it may violate the 2025 TAKE IT DOWN Act, which criminalizes nonconsensual publication of intimate images including AI-generated deepfakes. A Reuters review found that in a single 10-minute period, there were 102 attempts by X users to use Grok to digitally edit photographs of people into bikinis, with Grok fully complying in at least 21 cases, primarily targeting young women. The Internet Watch Foundation reported finding criminal imagery of girls aged 11-13 created using Grok on dark web forums. Even Ashley St. Clair, who has a child with Musk, reported that Grok continues creating sexualized images of her despite requests to stop, including images from when she was 14 years old.
