A former New Orleans teacher used AI to create fake nude images of females by obtaining their photos from social media and processing them through an online AI platform.
Benoit Cransac, a 49-year-old former teacher at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, was arrested on multiple charges including 60 counts of unlawful deepfakes. According to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Cransac obtained images of females from various social media accounts and used an online artificial intelligence platform to create fake nude images. The AI-generated images depicted the females as nude while preserving their faces from the original posts. Investigators found numerous collages where Cransac combined these AI-generated images. The investigation began in August 2025 after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the discovery of 12 files in Cransac's Google account. Additional searches revealed 17 images of female students taken in what appeared to be a classroom, focusing on their buttocks and lower legs. Cransac, who taught at Newman for 13 years, was also charged with 22 counts of child sexual abuse material possession and 17 counts of video voyeurism. He remains in custody with a total bond exceeding $8 million.
